Vans Nathan Fletcher Ride Of The Year

Billabong XXL Awards

Fri, 05/11/2012

VANS FOOTWEAR has a team of riders who are second to none in the world of skate, surf, and snow and in the past few months they have ben on an absolute tear when it comes to upping the level of their sports. One of the riders who has been hugely responsible for this charge (literally speaking) is surfer Nathan Fletcher who also happens to be a part of the ANALOG family and is widely known throughout the action sports world as one of the most legitimate and well respected athletes the sport has ever seen.

The reason why he has such a high-standing in this world, where respect is everything is because he has never backed down from a wave in his entire life. I say that because it is well documented that Nathan has perhaps the largest cajones in the history of the sport. It is because of this, and potentially a screw or two loose upstairs that he is able to take his surfing to another level and do things that very few others on the entire planet could bring themselves to do.

Every once in a while, a surfer like Nathan is rewarded for what they do in a way that sees recognition come from every corner of the industry. In the most recent case, this occasion was the BILLABONG XXL Awards, where surfers are given accolades for taking off and riding the biggest waves ever seen.

Nathan did what he does best, last August when he took to his feet on a giant in Teahupoo, Tahiti and earned himself the "Ride of The Year", "Tube of The Year" and "Men's Performance Champion". All of which were well deserved.
