Short Or Tall?---> We think short is gonna win this one.
*Figuring out what footwear is best for fall 2012*
Fri, 08/31/2012
Crisp mornings, the slight change in color of leaves and with the sun going to bed just a tad earlier each day we're finding fall 2012 is almost here! A new season brings on a new reason for change and along with all of the new up and coming changes to the weather we have oh so many exciting new trends to start followin with our wardrobes. And wow, am I excited to start the layering procees! Fall 2012 footwear pays heavy attention to the short boot. The Chelsea, the plateform bootie, the ankle boot and the grandma bootie are just a few of the prominent style ways that are making headlines. Attention to detail this season is also a heavy hitter in the trend market. Carrying over from summer we're seeing similar studding patterns on boots just as we did on the awesome tie dyed shorts. Whether it's tassles, again studding, hardware, or the fabrics being used there is just so much variety out there when it comes to putting together your staple pieces of footwear for fall.
When it comes to you fall footwear keep the following in mind;
- Keep it basic when it comes to dropping your chedder stax on that expensive boot. Staple pieces that you may wear all season long are worth the extra dollar bills. Usually with a high price point comes better quality of leather and manufacturing. Therefore lengthening the life of your boots. I tend to purchase the most comfortable pair thats in a staple color predicted by my fall wardrobe.
-Navy, maroon, rust, putty, leopard and chestnut are all prominent this fall. If you've got to courage to rock any of these color ways this fall DO IT! It's not about being matchy matchy. It's nice to have a splash of color @ your feet, even though black is a staple to almost every female wardrobe.
-It's great to have some options. With the unpredictable weather that we have here in Saskatchewan it's great to have some versatilty in your fall/winter collection. When purchasing any boot that you hope to be carrying over into your winter season be sure to check and make sure it has suitabe traction on it for the climate that you'll be living in. Here in Saskatchewan a lug sole or a neoprene are awesome for when the white stuff starts to fly!
-Protection of your footwear is KEY. If you don't spray or protect them with a leather protector the elements will be sure to have their way with your boots. Tana areosole spray is great, it wont change the color of you leather and you can spray them up to once every two weeks depending on how much they are exposed to moisture.
Below are some of the rad booties available @ Swank for fall 2012 and some images that I thought were inspiring on how to wear them.
Enjoy your transitional season; I hope your as excited about it as we are :)
P.S We are so excited to introduce ASH this fall check out some of there wicked studding in some of these photo's!
