FACE THE DAY

Hair, Makeup, Beauty.

Fri, 03/02/2012

Regardless of gender we all find ourselves moisturizing, plucking, zit -creaming, etc. just so we can look our very best.  Honestly, don't we all just want to look hot 24/7?  Working in the beauty industry has all the ultimate perks, but it can add a lot of pressure on a girl to keep it looking good!  So as an introduction, I'll give you a first hand look at my favorite products and  personal daily beauty routine!

First off, find a facial cleanser that works for your skin type and go from there. I'm currently using Neutrogena Rapid Clear Foaming Scrub. It keeps my breakouts at bay and it's a nice refreshing way to start and end my day.  When it comes to my moisturizer, I stay loyal to Cetaphil.  (Also, it is great on new tattoos!)

Now it's time for war paint!  I'm a makeup junkie so I've tried and tested a lot of products and these are my current favorites!

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse foundation is so smooth and light! LOVE IT! Even though I'm probably the palest person ever,  I never leave the house without Rimmel SunShimmer bronzer and Nars blush in Orgasm.

When it comes to my eyes, I whip out an Amy Winehouse inspired cat eye with my Sephora brand liquid liner and top it off with Clinique High Lengths mascara or Maybelline The Falsies.  (I alternate between the two and sometimes double up with both!)

Got to keep those brows in check as well!  They are the cherry on top of the cake, so to help me fill them in a bit I use Benefit Browzings.  It has a deadly wax to help tame the beasts and a powder to fill in some bare spots. So good!  Depending on my mood I'll throw a little bit of glitter under my eyes and unleash my inner Spice Girl.

Taking care of your hair is also very important to looking good day to day, so I lather up with Aveda Shampure shampoo and conditioner.  It smells so relaxing  that you can't help but Zen out when you're washing your hair.  Since I'm so blonde I like to keep the tone of my hair bright and healthy looking, so I use Unite Blonda shampoo whenever my mop is looking dull.  It's purple and smells like grape cough syrup...brings back horrible childhood memories.

Unite 7Seconds leave-in conditioner and detangler is a MUSTMUSTMUST!!!!  Oh man,  it has a delicious green apple scent and it really gets those knots out!  It works very well if you vacation somewhere hot, spray it in after you get out of the ocean or pool and comb it through.  It's actually kind of magical and most ultimately my absolute favorite product ever!

My styling products vary from day to day but to get some texture and a bit of hold Unite TrickyLite spray wax is my saving grace.

So, that pretty much sums up my everyday routine of face paint and hairspray!  I think it's important that we all face the day with attitude, confidence and style and it all starts in the bathroom mirror.  :)

To find all of the above hair care and styling products I mentioned, go to Salon Deja Vu at 733 Broadway Ave. (Inside the Dairy Building) or call 933-3352 for more info.
