Music Monday : John Mayer
Mon, 08/20/2012
Few artists come into a scene and stick around to become synonymous with that generations musical sound. This is becoming even harder as the artists who are emerging now are forced to adapt and change thanks to a decided smaller attention span among listeners. So when John Mayer announced the release his latest album entitled "Born and Raised" it was met with much praise and anticipation because of the fact that most of us have been listening to him for years and the sound he produces is always one of amazing quality and the song that he compiles are the kind you can listen to over and over again.
Mayer has had some difficulties over the last little while when it comes to performing because of some vocal chord issues, so what he has done instead is release small snippets and teasers allowing fans to hear and see his music performed in a way that only John can. At the same time, this serves to keep people actively interested, so that when he does decide to tour eventually, he will once again have no issues selling out arenas, stadiums and boats of all sizes.
The most recent taste of Mayer's magic is an acoustic version of a new song called "Something About Olivia" in which we see his classic and iconic guitar skills on full display for probably the 230,000,000th time. For some reason it never gets old, and although I only came across this song a few days ago, it has been hard to turn off since.
Enjoy the song, and the week everyone!
