Oakley Frogskin

Acid Tortoise Collection

Wed, 06/20/2012

Every Summer we see lines come out for almost all of our BRANDS which come in hot and make a splash for the warm weather season, then disappear into our memory banks. That is of course unless, you happen to get into your CLOSEST SPAREPARTS STORE and grab yourself a pair, before the selection and the Summer are gone.

One of the companies we look to most often for one-of-a-kind and eye-catching pieces is OAKLEY who have spent decades being looked to as innovators of the eyewear game. One of the most iconic pieces they have ever created is THE FROGSKIN which was one of the brand's original designs and to this day has remained one of their most popular frames. The reasons for this popularity are as plentiful as the colors it has been issued in, and one of the major reasons is the colors themselves, which year after year continue to push the boundaries of "acceptable" and turn more heads than a streaker at a sporting event.

The Summer of 2012 is no exception and once again OAKLEY has stepped up in a huge way to show the world that they are still one of the most forward thinking and creative companies in the eyewear game. We have seen a lot of collections come and go from O over the years and is plain to see that this may be one of the most "out there" series of colors they have ever produced.

Acid Tortoise as it is known is a combination of classic tortoise shell texture with colors that can only be described as "Acid". Bringing these two things together is something that sums up OAKLEY in a nutshell, or a turtle shell if you would prefer. It is equal parts timeless beauty and a style that anyone can wear, coupled with a new age and limit-pushing edge that is not for the faint of heart. Pure Oakley.

The best thing you can do for your Summer is to spend it with a pair of these hiding your eyes from harmful UV rays, which is a task easily handled by Oakley's patented Plutonite lens, which block out 100% of UV light. But like we said there is no way these will last long in our STORES, so it is probably a good idea to head down to your closest SPAREPARTS and get at least one of these iconic classics while you still can.
