Last night I went and checked out Waterfront Wines. Located downtown, Waterfront is small little restaurant and wine bar with a very cool atmosphere. Waterfront has cozy decor and a great list of wines. The menu is built on fresh local comfort food and the dishes pop with flavors from the Okanagan and inspirations from around the world.
Waterfront has just expanded the restaurant to better accommodate to their expanding customers and has won the gold medal for best Okanagan restaurant the past three years from the Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards. Last night we went with the Pomme Frites and the Crispy Pakora Battered Calamari to start it off. The calamari was cooked to perfection and accompanied with an awesome Lime Chili Aioli, fresh cilantro and pickled carrots. As the mains, Tanner went with the Grilled Peppercorn Crusted Heritage Angus Flat Iron served with Sieglinde Potatoes and Sauce Bordelaise. I chose the Yarrow Meadows Duck Breast served with Mushroom and Spätzle Sauté and a Red Wine Duck Jus. Both meals were served with fresh seasonal vegetables. I really enjoyed my night out and it was accompanied by awesome service.
