Wakey Wakey on the Lakey
Spy Bootcamp 2012
Fri, 08/31/2012
Looking back on the last few months of summer, one weekend was easily the most epic: Brostock 2012 at Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri. Working at Spareparts has pretty unreal perks and allows for some once in a lifetime experiences and this was definitely one of them. Every year Spy Optic puts together a huge party with some of biggest and best brands and people in the industry and calls it Bootcamp. Both myself and the one and only Kevin Case from Kelowna were invited to this year’s festivities. Here’s just a little taste of what went down.
After a good 7 hours of flying and a 3 hour ride in a fully stocked van we made it to Lake of the Ozarks aka Middle of Nowhere, Missouri. Mad hooked up on accommodations.

The plan for weekend was pretty straightforward, party as much as possible and soak up as much sun as we could. Needless to say, the partying commenced right away.

Days two and three were easily the sickest.
Itinerary:
- Stock boat with prizes and beer
- Stock boat with more beer
- Drive boat out to the wakeboard comp
- Tie boat together with hardest partying boats
- Throw the anchor in and party til sunset

Pabst Blue Ribbon VIP After Party at Captain Ron’s. All you can drink tall boys of PBR is either the best or worst idea ever. It’s highly debatable whether more beer was consumed or sprayed into the crowd that evening.

Back at the house.
“Woah, have you ever seen one of those go off?”
“Nah, you guys?”

All in all, this was one of the most insane trips/parties I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve grown a strange addiction to Tums and don’t think I’ll ever look at condiments the same way again (don’t ask). No question though, aint no party like a Spy Optic party.
Check out the montage from the boys at Liquid Force.
