Earlier this year in spring there was PARKSHOW, for this fall, there was PARKLUXE. "PARKLUXE is a fashion show and art exhibition initiative featuring local designers and professional artists who share a common, high-end target market. PARKLUXE is designed to connect Calgary fashion and art lovers with sophisticated local designers and artists who are making an impact outside of our city limits and throughout Canada and North America. " www.ourparkonline.com

With the fashion show hosted by the Hyatt Auto Gallery Mercedes Benz downtown Calgary, it was an elegant evening of fashion, cars, and great atmosphere. The four featured designers included LAUREN BAGLIORE, CAITLIN POWER, ANNE B. ACCESSORIES, and NICOLE CAMPRE. 

 

Earlier this month we also had Calgary's first Heart Truth Fashion Show put on to raise awareness and promote the Heart and Stroke Foundation. "The Heart Truth is a national public health education campaign to raise awareness that heart disease and stroke is the #1 killer of women in Canada." www.thehearttruthcalgary.com 

Select Fashion Designers created couture red dresses (which is the official symbol of The Heart Truth campaign of The Heart and Stroke Foundation) and suits that were worn on the runway by some of Canada′s top celebrities and VIPs. The event also showcased a first viewing of clothing lines presented by top Calgary designers and retailers, such as Paul Hardy, Scotch & Soda, and The Bay.  Making this event possible, Sophia Models International strutted the runway in style. 

 

Both shows were incredibly successful and could not have been possible without a few ladies who strive to make the Calgary's fashion scene something to be noticed.  PR savvy  Jacqueline Tyler, and Kara Chomistek, an advocate for Calgary’s arts and culture.
