Broadway Street Fair & Fillmore Vintage
A Beautiful Saskatoon Saturday
Sat, 09/08/2012
Today was the Broadway Street Fair. It's easily one of the best festivals of the year in Saskatoon; I like it because it showcases the unique businesses on my favourite street in the city. It's one of those classic and eclectic festivals featuring all the things that make the neighborhood great. There were hot rods, hot dogs, pie-throws, lemonade, dancers, wacky infaltable flailing arms men, clothes, used books, and live music. To make it even better, it was a beautiful September day outside, making the Calories and Nino's patios perfect for people watching and a cold one.
I was also able to see great performances by Young Benjimans and Jeans Boots.
The street fair wasn't the only place to get a good deal and witness something unique today. I checked out Devon's pop-up shop, "Fillmore Vintage," in Luna and Hill and got myself a great sweater and denim shirt, both for under $40. The shop looked great and was a complete success. He brought some of Saskatoon's most stylish out, and they cleaned him fresh out!
Hopefully we'll see more of these in the future! (I was assured that we will, haha) Thanks for a great Saturday, Saskatoon!
PS. Stay tuned for Zach's detailed feature on Fillmore Vintage, coming this week.
