Añejo Restaurant

AÑEJO Restaurant is a great addition to the Calgary food scene with its modern twist on Mexican cuisine. A unique experience for sure, especially when your server mashes up your guacamole right in front of you! In addition to our chips and guacamole, we ordered a flight of tacos filled with of beef short rib, adobo pork, crispy red snapper, and chicken and 3 salsa variations on the side. We didn't get into the main dishes but they sure look amazing.

One thing I think this new Mexican joint is going to thrive on is its tequila menu. The tequila cocktails are never ending! With a lot of fresh flavour in every one, its hard not to try them all. I enjoyed the 'Paloma', which consisted of Blanco, grapefruit soda, fresh lime, tequila of course, and a salted rim. I know Spencer Crosby touched on this already from an earlier post (click here to see it!), but the Margaritas (over ice, not blended) really are fresh and delicious, and add in the bright open decor - its a little bit of Mexico right here, on 4th street!
