Shaun White Beyond Reason
Unveils New Trick

To say that Shaun White dominates the sport of half pipe snowboarding is a serious understatement. For a guy who only competes in a handful of events each year, the level he is on is simply mind-blowing. Love him or hate him, it is impossible to argue with his talent level as you watch him sore high over the heads of his nearest competitors. For years now, Oakley has recognized this unreal talent and backed Shaun, not only with their top-of-the-line products, many of which now bear his name, but also with lucrative financial deals which allow the superstar to train the way he needs to in order to stay on top of the game.
Recently the company showed off Shaun's skills, as well as their money being put to good use in a new video from the "Beyond Reason" campaign which showcases top-level athletes on an intimate level that really allows viewers to get inside their minds. What Shaun is discussing in the video included here, is the type of training that he does each season, and the process that sees him reach the top of the podium literally every time he enters the pipe.
The culmination of the video's build-up comes with the finish, where Shaun puts down a new trick which is being called a "Double Allie-Oop Backside Rodeo" which more or less sees Shaun floating above the lip of the pipe completely sideways in a fashion that has never been seen to this point. There is no telling what the future of the sport holds in store for us if this type of thing is being debuted at the start of a season. How much of the sport's evolution lies in the capable hands of Shaun White is also "up in the air", but I for one am certainly interested to see where his progression will lead.
For the time being you can also get your hands on the gear that helps make all of this possible, as Spareparts has one of the largest Oakley selections in the world, including the Airbrake goggle which Shaun uses on a regular basis while blowing minds. If you can make it down to a Spareparts location I strongly suggest you do so. But if not, then click over to www.sparepartslife.com where our entire collection is available for viewing.
